Like depression, writer’s block can be paralyzing – the Bioenergetic approach helps us to gain access to the stream of energy that lives in us – that energy propels our creative expression. When it flows, we write.
Writer’s block may be a symptom of something underlying – anxiety, depression, or some unresolved emotional issue. It is often a sign that we’re thinking too much – we’re in our heads, out of touch with parts of ourselves.
Understanding what’s blocking us is a part of the process of working through writer’s block. But thinking too much – a top-down approach – might make matters worse.
In Bioenergetic therapy we often take a bottom-up approach to writer’s block. Work that frees the body and frees our impulses often allows the creative juices to flow again. And when our energy flows our writer’s block is gone.
I'm here to help.
